Origin & History
1973
Our vineyards are above all a family affair, passed down through the generations that sustained our ancestors and grandparents. Then Jacqueline and Claude MICHEZ developed their own brand of CHAMPAGNE in 1973 with the help of the village cooperative.
1996
Since 1996, it has been me, Laurence (one of the two daughters), who has been working alongside them to learn and continue the work of vineyard management and sales.
2001
In 2001, Cyrille, my husband, who was then a viticulture trainer, gradually arrived at the estate to develop viticultural practices.
2009
In 2009, the opportunity arose to make wine himself and create his own vintages when he discovered a property and its facilities for sale in the municipality. It was a chance, but also a life change to be seized.
2010
So, in 2010, we decided to take the plunge into this family adventure. Everything was in place to combine a wine-growing project with family life. We took the leap and chose to leave the village cooperative to produce our own wines from the family vineyards.
2020
In 2020, the estate took a decisive step forward by converting all of its 4.2 hectares to organic viticulture, thereby extending the High Environmental Value certification obtained a few years earlier and affirming its commitment to sustainable viticulture in Boursault.
La Villesenière is therefore a journey, a milestone: BECOMING AN INDEPENDENT WINEMAKER and a shared desire to reveal a terroir, to make wine oneself…
And the name La Villeseniere? In addition to evoking part of the terroir (VILLESAINT, a hamlet of BOURSAULT), the name symbolises a reference to Jacqueline (a winegrower in VILLESAINT and Laurence's mother).
