VINEYARD AND COMMITMENT
From environmental certification to organic viticulture

And it is always thanks to family values and people that we set the standard.
We have long been concerned about our impact on the environment and on people, and have been reducing our inputs for many years.
2020: total commitment to organic viticulture
Despite the often challenging climate in Champagne, we wanted to continue preserving the exceptional environment of our estate and the people who work there.
In 2015, we began working on a plot of land using entirely organic methods. After observing, changing practices and analysing the possibilities, we made a formal commitment in 2020 to use organic viticulture practices across the entire estate.
Organic viticulture is very demanding work and requires attention from February/March onwards. First of all, the grass must be managed using mechanical tools suited to the terroir and the vines (herbicides are prohibited).
We protect the vines ourselves, depending on the weather.
Our treatments are natural in order to preserve biodiversity and ensure respect for the soil. We also use preparations that strengthen the immune defences of the vines.

2023
After three years of complete conversion, certification has been granted for the 2023 harvest.
The musts obtained in September 2023 are therefore certified, and the bottles will be certified in a few years after the regulatory ageing period in the cellar.

Our daily actions
Our daily objectives are to minimise the impact of wine production on the environment, promote ecology and biodiversity, and take into account the well-being and safety of our permanent employees and their training. We also value the quality and proximity of our suppliers (bottles, boxes, wire caps, corks, etc.), who are local and also committed to reducing their environmental impact.
Our commitment to people
As artisan winegrowers, manual labour is prioritised throughout the year, with Sébastien and Aloys working alongside us. Particular attention is paid to each stage, from pruning tailored to each plot, each vine and each grape variety, to tying, debudding, and high-quality lifting and trellising, thanks to seasonal workers who come to work alongside us.
All this work in the vineyard is necessary in order to prepare for the future harvest, where it all begins for the creation of fine wines.
But none of this would be possible without our grape pickers, porters, unloaders and pressers, who do such high-quality work and select the best bunches for us. Some have been loyal to our family for over 20 years, and even more than 40 years!
The traditions that perpetuate the grape harvest are a way of life and an experience for some.
Every year, we choose to reunite with our loyal workers who love to share, learn, work and carefully pick the grapes that have been nurtured throughout the season.
We attach great importance to hospitality and conviviality throughout the harvest period.
